Students of the Month

Reese Esary and Shawna Hochstetler of Stanwood Middle School were named the December Rotary Club Students of the Month.  Students are selected through a competitive process based on multiple factors including academic progress, activities and overall academic plans. 

Reese Esary of Stanwood, son of Amy and Ralph Esary, has participated in science club, student council, and leadership class.  Reese is active in sports through select soccer and basketball.  His favorite courses are math and science.  In addition to school activities Reese works as a soccer referee and is active in his Christian youth group.  He has maintained a 3.9 GPA throughout middle school.

Shawna Hochstetler of Camano Island , daughter of Alicia and Brian Hochstetler, has participated in select softball, track, basketball, volleyball and soccer.  Her favorite course is leadership.  Her plans for the future include completing college and becoming a professional athlete.
