Board meeting 10/4/06
Meeting called to Order by President Terry Greer at 10:10am
*Jim J. moved to approve last month's minutes, seconded by Laura and passed unanimously
*Rotary Foundation"
oInvoicing Procedure of "optional" dues " agreed that Bonnie would talk with Dawn about sending out a quarterly invoice (generic "Dear Rotarian")
*Public Relations
oJohn Baker's brochure is almost complete " the board reviewed made a few small changes (justification, contact info. Etc.)
oTerry G. will verify we have releases from the students pictured
oWe will start with a small run (perhaps 100) and proof for a final time.
*Club Admin
oDaryl has volunteered to take over the position of club Secretary. (Pam Miller resigned when she moved jobs)
oTreasurer's Report
*$7,147 admin / $39,340 project
*Auction had a $37,861 net profit (Dawn is still following up on some CCDs that were not honored)
*Parade took in a net of $4286
*Guys and Dolls took in a profit of $1,135.51
*Lipscombs sponsored the costs of flowers, candy & cookies. Haggens provided the water and pop and Camano Island Roasters donated the coffee so there was no overhead.
*A big thank you is in order for the donors *" perhaps in a letter to the editor.
oThank you notes to the Speakers (weekly) " this is the responsibility of the club Secretary.
oMic set up for speakers " Dave L. will look further into this
oPolicy on Abuse " Charlie is looking into it (Dave will follow up with him)
oGrants " Dave will check with Teresa
oClub Directory " we need to bring it and keep it up to date
*Work party to get all books brought up to date quickly? Then perhaps a book exchange
*Each member should review their info online and update accordingly
*Date of last revision may not be possible to track
*Jack Meyers has gone through and deleted most (if not all) non-members
*Kristy will print out copy of roster every 3 months and bring in so everyone can have an up to date list
*Kristy, John and Jack will be in charge of this
oCan we formalize the guidelines of 60-70% local projects " on agenda for next month's meetingv *Projects
oAuction " Camano Senior Center, June 9, 2007
*Auctioneer " contract signed " he will provide one spotter and the club will provide one.
*Teams will be assigned next week and captains will be appointed
*Jack Myles and Terry M. would like to (and Board has given their approval) to set minimum requirements for members regarding *$1000 brought in for sale
*4 seats
*Some job (set-up, clean up, runner, etc.) *Basket or check to Nancy for wholesale shopping
*Contribution to the beer and wine barrel (shopping will be done by Jack Myles with quality control in mind)
*Key Bank may allow us to store stuff there again, but if not, Skagit State may have room.
*Auction Software " upgrade would be expensive and may not be worth the money, but it will be looked into.
oKenya " moving forward *Terry and Jim have roughed out a grant app to visit location " 2/1/07 is their anticipated leave date
*Michael H. is assisting on the other side and has identified some potential sites.
*We are looking to fund equipment purchases, not buildings.
*We currently have $2000, approved funding of $3000 by club
*Looking for 3-5K from neighboring clubs (MV, Marysville, Lynnwood, Bellevue)
*With matching grants, our goal is $60,000 *" enough to fund 4 clinics, some with mobile equipment.

oDiane White " should we offer her an honorary membership (would follow the Mayor of Stanwood, not the individual)
o Contacting No-shows " we really need to increase our attendance " dismal numbers for the past couple of weeks)
