Last Wednesday, April 4th, Rotary Foundation Chair, Stephen Morach, presented Paul Harris Fellowship Awards to Jon Baker and Ted Johnson.

Paul Harris recognition is given when an individual donates $1000 or receives 1000 recognition points or any combination of each that equals 1000.   Once a Rotarian has received the Paul Harris recognition level, any monetary contributions above that level gives the Rotarian a recognition point for each dollar contributed.    A Rotarian may give their points to another Rotarian or to recognize a family member or spouse or anyone that has contributed to the community.

Sapphire pins are awarded at every 1000 recognition level up to 10,000.  Ten of our club members have been awarded sapphire or multiple sapphire pins.  At the 10,000 recognition level a Rotarian is recognized as a Major Donor to the Foundation.

Although, recognition is nice, our donations help provide funding for Polio Eradication, Humanitarian Programs (including health, hunger, and humanity grants), Educational Programs (including Group Study Exchange, Ambassadorial Scholarships, Rotary Grants for University Teachers, Rotary World Peace Scholarships).   The Programs of the Rotary Foundation help us to make a difference in our world.
