In 1980 she and her husband Bill traded the smog and traffic of Southern California for the clean air, more temperate weather, and overall better quality of life of Washington State, and have never looked back.

Linda and Bill owned and operated Evergreen Security for the last 37 years, an electronic security company, where they grew it from just the two of them to a staff of 15 serving thousands of customers all over western Washington.  In November of 2017 they sold their company and retired, just in time for Rotary to take over their lives.

Over the years Linda has been very active in her local community serving on the board of the Chambers of Commerce, local Community Policing Board, Boy’s & Girls Club Board, DARE Committee, and was appointed by the Chief of Police to serve as a team member on the Western Regional Institute for Community Oriented Public Safety covering a five state area.

Linda Murray has been a member of the South Everett Mukilteo Rotary Club since 1989. She is a multiple Paul Harris Fellow, a Benefactor, and a Bequest Society Member. She served as her club’s president in 2000-2001.

Her husband Bill was inducted into the same Rotary club during her first month as President and has remained an active member.  In addition to co-chairing her club’s auction for two years with Bill, she has served on most committees and held numerous board positions, including Membership, Fund Allocation, Treasurer, and Foundation during her 27 years in rotary.  She also served on her clubs Foundation Board for several years.

Linda served as the District Administrator from 2007-2010, lead a Group Study Exchange Team to India in 2010, served as Assistant Governor for three years and the District Membership Chair for Four years.  Linda serves on the District Visioning Team, and is a faculty member for the Rotary Leadership Institute.

On a Personal note, Linda has been married to Bill for 44 years and they have two children. Their son Brent who is married with one daughter and another one due at Christmas. Their daughter Nicole and son-in law live just north eat of Shanghai, China where Nicole teaches English and develops curriculum for a private school and her husband is an Engineer working for a company that works on alternative energy.
