Honoring Nancy Nelson: A Lifetime of Service

We are thrilled to celebrate and honor Nancy Nelson with a Distinguished Service Citation for her 30 faithful years of service to the Rotary Club of Stanwood-Camano Island and the world. This recognition honors not only her incredible dedication and hard work but also the values of integrity and compassion she lives by every day.

Nancy has been a cornerstone of our club and our community for three decades. While she has been a dedicated Rotarian, she has also served on staff for nearly forty years alongside her husband, Stan, at the Warm Beach Christian Camps and Conference Center right here in Stanwood. During her time at the camp, Nancy has taken on five different careers, most recently spending the last twenty years as part of the development team, raising vital resources for the organization.

In addition to her work with Warm Beach and Rotary, Nancy has also shared her expertise with other non-profits. Since 2010, she has been a faculty member for the M.J. Murdock Trust’s “Essentials of Development” program, helping other organizations learn how to better fund their missions.

While Nancy's professional and volunteer accomplishments are truly impressive, she will tell you that her all-time favorite job description is "GRANDMA."

Thank you, Nancy, for your unwavering commitment to making our community and the world a better place. You are an inspiration to us all!

Nancy Nelson has also published Stories of Sheer Pure Grace, a collection of 50 stories, all answers to someone praying with each story bringing out a characteristic of God.  To find out more follow the link below:

A Well-Deserved Honor for Steve Goforth

We are proud to announce that our very own Steve Goforth has been recognized with a Distinguished Service Citation. The award was presented by District Governor Isabelle Martinez Hayer with sincere gratitude for Steve's outstanding leadership and his dedication to furthering the ideals of Rotary.

This prestigious recognition honors Steve for his tireless work in promoting humanitarian service within our club and across our community. His actions consistently exemplify the Rotary motto, "Service Above Self," serving as an inspiration to us all.

Congratulations, Steve, on this well-deserved honor! Your commitment and leadership make a real difference.

We are thrilled to announce that a second Little Free Library was installed today at the Rotary Adventure Playground! More books, more readers, more fun!

The Blue Library is now stocked with books for children in grades 2 through 5, while Red Library will focus on books for our youngest readers, from birth to first grade.

This expansion means more children in our community will have access to free books, helping to promote literacy for all ages.

Remember the rule: Take a Book - Share a Book! Our charter number is #199149. You can also find us on the Little Free Library App to see what's new!
