SERVICE ABOVE SELF RECOGNITION

Theresa Metzger was recognized by President Jim for her "service above self".  The award is presented to club members who go above and beyond the call of duty. In Theresa's case, she was the original chair of the Imagination Library Project Committee and did much of the planning for the kick off event for the Imagination Library that got this project off to such a great start. She coordinates the scholarship program for the Stanwood Camano Area Foundation and has been very helpful in the selection process for our Rotary scholarships each of the past several years. And at my time of need, she stepped up and volunteered to coordinate and chair the Hospitality Committee, being in charge of planning the menu, ordering lunches and supplies, and making sure that everything is ready to serve each of us as we come in to the meetings at Wednesday noon.  Especially for our newer members, Theresa is a wonderful example of why "service above self" is our motto.
