Rotary Auction Raises Funds for Literacy, Exchange Program & Community Projects

The 6th annual Stanwood Camano Rotary Club Auction was a huge success raising more than $42,000 to support the on-going work of the service club.  More than $10,000 was raised to support the Imagination Library which will provide 390 children with new hardcover books this year.  The Imagination Library is a free program for youth aged birth to five that live within the StanwoodCamanoSchool District's boundaries.  The remaining amount raised will be used to support the club's work with providing new winter coats to families in need, student scholarships, student of the month programs, an international youth exchange program and a dental project in Kenya.

"This auction would not be possible without the support of our community," explained the Club's Auction Chair Charlie Hall.  "We are grateful to not only to the more than 120 people who came to support our programs through their generous bids but also to a number of local businesses and individuals who provided all of the items."
