11/1/06 Rotary Board Meeting
* Membership
*6 people are in the process of becoming new members
*Ryan Dolan (Carl), Mike Heckendorf (Nancy), Gary Platt (Terry G.), Jeff Ericson (Laura), Bonnie Chissum (Steve ), Pat Clark (John S.)
*Applications for Jeff and Pat need to be located their names have already been posted and read
*Gary, Ryan and Mike were approved by the Board (unan.)
* Motion made by Jack and seconded by Jon
o New Member Process forms available from Nancy
*Don't tell the applicant until they are approved by the Board
*Costs Annual Dues $100, One time Registration $67, Lunches $480, Auction responsibilities, Suggested Foundation contribution $100
* Dawn will verify these upon her return from sunny Mexico
*Board Approval does not create a new member it allows applicant to continue with process
* They will become new members when dues are paid and badge is given.
o Mike Heckendorf's use of Rotary in advertising à Nancy will speak to him about it
* Not a big issue, but need to explain that he is not a member yet
* Foundation
o Foundation Dinner November 17 at the Skagit Casino - %:45pm
o Club will send $6000 contribution when Dawn returns.
* Public Relations
o 300 brochures have been printed
o May want to change background on future printings (too busy)
o Business cards will be printed next week
o Contact person at SC News best to turn things in by hand
* Treasurer's Report No Dawn, no report
* Projects
o Auction
*Site and auctioneer booked
*Teams have been assigned no geographic regions assigned to teams
o Dental grant application is ready to go Leroy from Arlington club would like to join us.
*Travel set to be around 2/1/06 tickets will be purchased after grant is approved.
* Project will then begin around end of 2007 Ã we can get this process started now
o Lights of Christmas
*Arch will cost roughly $250 (Keith can do it)
* We will put the rotary wheel on it (likely cost around $100)
* John S. moved to approve $350, 2nd by Kristy à passed unan.
*Rotary night
* Need to ensure that enough members will show up
* We will take a Friday hopefully the 2nd Friday (12/8/06)
* Nancy will bring forms to sign up
o Eagle Scout Project he spent $235 on the Stanwood sign, and he'll bring receipts to Terry G.'s office.
o Angel Tree Donation Eagle outreach Ministries a good local project
*There is money in contingency fund and we've given to it for the past 6 years
* Jon B. moves to approve $500, 2nd by Jim à passes unan.
o Food Bank
*John S. is coordinating the trucks
*Do we cancel the meeting that Wednesday yes
*Nancy will check with Kurt on what day works
*Nancy will also offer discount passes for the Lights of Christmas
o Road Clean-up
*Motion to commit to 3 years (Jon, 2nd Jim) passes unan.
o Youth Exchange
*Application Design and publish at high school
* Ashley Hall is interested
* Greg will chair the committee
* Kristy joins the committee
o GSE �?" Kristy will host people
* Misc.
o The proper form needs to be given to Dawn to issue any checks
o Gifts for Speakers Jack moves to buy more, Jim 2nd passes unan
o Christmas party lunch instead of dinner as more people can attend
* Kristy will book Maxime's
* White Elephant gift exchange
