Laurie was our speaker on November 15, 2006. She hightlignted all the positive programs being promoted at the Senior Center.
During the last two years, Laurie has pushed to promote more youth and family activities with the Center. She has worked hard to change the public image of the Senior Center by building strong partnerships with other area non-profits. She has invited local businesses to advertise in their Center Newsletter, supported other area agencies and established a good rapport within the community.
Laurie is an accomplished vocalist and actress. She was seen last summer in the NW Civic Light Opera's production of The Sound of Music as the Mother Abbess. Just this year, she took a cameo role in the NW Musical Theatre Company's production of Guys and Dolls. In June, Laurie took first place in the adult division of the Marysville Strawberry Festival Talent Show and also took the honor of Best Overall Performance. Laurie says her music is her meditation and she enjoys performing where ever she can.
